The Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP®) conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. NRP uses a blended learning approach, which includes online testing, online case-based simulations, and hands-on case-based simulation/debriefing that focus on critical leadership, communication, and team-work skills.

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care of the Neonate.

The NRP course format requires students to study the material from The Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 9th Edition, and pass the online examination before attending this NRP interactive classroom course.

The NRP® Course Process is as follows:

1. Online Portion: Students MUST first complete the 9th Edition ADVANCED PROVIDER CURRICULUM online lessons/exam prior to attending this instructor-led classroom course.

The online lessons/exam must be purchased separately and taken at:  AAP NRP Learning Platform

The textbook is required and is included in eBook form with the Advanced Provider Curriculum purchase on the AAP site.

2. Attend this Instructor-led classroom skills session: Register below for the mandatory skills session. You must complete the classroom portion of the course within 90 days of completing your online NRP exam.
